Prenatal Care
El Centro Regional Medical Center has a dedicated staff of physicians and support personnel ready to partner with expecting mothers and fathers and see that everything possible is done to ensure healthy a childbirth.
Our prenatal services include:
- Observation and evaluation for both mothers and fetal well-being
- Medication administration and management
- Limited OB sonograms
- Intravenous hydration
- Non-Stress Test (to monitor baby's heart rate)
- Amniocentesis (AFT) to detect any abnormalities or infections -
Private Rooms
ECRMC's Maternity and Child services provides family-centered care (also known as couplet care), in which mother, baby and support person stay together from childbirth to discharge. Couplet care facilitates family bonding, supports successful breastfeeding and increases patient satisfaction.
Our private rooms minimize maternal-infant separation. You and your baby are cared for together with one nurse caring for the "couplet." Your baby stays in your hospital room, even at night. We encourage all maternity patients to have a support person who can stay with you in your private room.

Maternity Tours
El Centro Regional Medical Center welcomes family and loved ones of our patients in our Imperial Valley Maternal & Child facility. We want you to see firsthand the environment we have created, so you can feel comfortable that choosing ECRMC is the right choice for your growing family.
During the tour, mothers and families can expect to learn more about where their child will be born and what their stay at ECRMC will be like. Hospital staff encourages questions from patients and can even provide helpful information on what they can do in their own homes to prepare for the day of childbirth and the critical time afterward when parents bring home their child for the first time.

Lactation Support Programs
One unexpected challenge that many new mothers face is breastfeeding. Many don't realize that this is a learned skill and, for many mothers and children, does not come naturally.
At ECRMC, we provide mothers a breastfeeding support group and other resources for patients to pursue breastfeeding goals and strengthen the bond between mother and child.

Mothers and families who come to the pediatrics department can trust the professionals there to provide access to a continuum of care throughout the rest of the hospital.
